Details
The Sourcing Manager will provide strong leadership in commodity strategy development; supplier selection and development; and attain business objectives (cost, quality, lead-time, etc.) for purchased injection molded and other components.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Lead in the preparation and implementation of supply strategies that include cost reduction plans, risk mitigation, cost containment initiatives and supply base optimization using a total cost of ownership approach.
• Conduct accurate analysis of spend information, both internal and external, for effective negotiations and decision-making.
• Oversee and lead contract negotiations for key suppliers regarding critical commodities.
• Develop a superior working knowledge of assigned commodities and associated market conditions.
• Manage supply chain performance through Key Performance Indicators (KPI) statistics.
• Communicate activities effectively with suppliers, internal customers, and corporate partners.
• Actively drive New Product Development efforts. Support design changes and assist with implementation of new products.
• Monitor supplier performance (cost, quality and delivery) and respond to procurement inquiries from internal customers as well as handle complaints, resolve problems and bring closure to supplier performance issues.
• Create, distribute and analyze formal solicitations for goods and services and seek to develop alternative sources of supply; keeping abreast of industry trends, new products/markets and market changes that will impact supply and demand.
• Improve department efficiencies by researching and implementing streamline and/or automated business processes, to include procurement, payment, data retrieval and reporting.
• Other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Business, Materials or Engineering.
• 5 to 8 years of progressive purchasing experience.
• Proven cost savings through sourcing efforts.
• Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel 5%-15%.

Preferred:
CPM or similar certification. Experience with lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies a plus.
Formal project management experience.
