Reporting to the Senior Director Sourcing & Commodity Management for a rapidly expanding manufacturer in the High Tech & Medical Device vertical. Will manage 12-16 direct reports and responsible for managing the Purchasing Project Managers (PPMs) who represent the Purchasing department in Product Realization Process (PRP) and Low Cost Sourcing (LCS) activities, and Commodity Purchasers who manage supplier performance for PRPs and LCS activities. Also responsible for product cost management and reporting during both phases (PRP and LCS), as well as high level planning of: capacity, ramp complex product changes (i.e. phase-in/phase-out). Additionally will operate in a collaborative function with NPI and Process Engineering groups. The position requires excellent focus, high energy and enthusiasm, forward thinking, strong analytical capability, excellent problem solving, the ability to manage change, solid execution and a commitment to help the company meet financial objectives and exceed customer expectations. 

Background Required:
·         Project Management, Global Sourcing, Purchasing or Commodity Management (8 years)
·         Proven history with Global Sourcing initiatives
·         Cost Engineering
·         Demonstrated success in supply chain best practices (i.e. cost management, supplier development, lead time reduction methods)
·         Utilize LEAN thinking & LEAN Methodologies
·         Understanding and use of Total Cost of Ownership decision-making tools
·         Metrics measurements (i.e. pricing, delivery, costs, quality)
·         Willingness to travel up to 30% (both Domestic & International)
·         Computer literate:  Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, & Outlook)
·         Location: San Francisco (Bay area), CA (relocation package provided)
·         Education: Bachelor's degree (BSME, BSEE or other technical discipline)
Background Preferred (but not required):
·         Certified - Project Management Professional (PMP)
·         Working knowledge of SAP
·         Industry relevant certifications  (i.e. APICS, ISM, Six Sigma, Lean)
·         Advanced Degree –MBA or MS
