Position Summary:

The incumbent is responsible for the management of global sugar-free sweeteners, corn syrup and starch. This role has accountability for guiding a team to deliver sourcing strategy development and execution, inclusive of supplier development, supply risk mitigation and VPO delivery for ~$200MM in spend across the Wrigley operations globally (NA, Europe, CISMEA & APAC).

Major Responsibilities:
1. Utilizes strategic sourcing methodology to develop category strategies, source, negotiate and manage suppliers to deliver total lowest cost materials and mitigate the supply risks. Intimately understands the category markets and cost drivers and develops annual budgets for all regions.
2. Direct responsibility for the management of the sugar-free sweetener category globally. Responsible for researching, developing and monitoring price-risk management strategies across key commodities.
3. Proactively works with suppliers to ensure the delivery of continuous improvement and technology which ultimately leads to competitive advantage and working capital reduction opportunities.
4. Serves as the primary point of contact for cross-functional partners across the regions, relative to sourcing activity. Incumbent will work closely with the following cross-functional teams: Quality, Innovation, VPO, Copacker Team, Operations Business Team, Finance, Product Supply and Procurement Operational Team.
5. Works closely with Quality on development and monitoring of supplier performance via supplier scorecard, quarterly and annual performance reviews, in addition to supplier visits, plant tours, etc.
6. Work together with the Value & Profitability Optimization (VPO) team to identify and implement the cost improvement initiatives.
7. Collaborate with other Mars segments on synergies to drive optimal value to the organization.

8. Responsible for identifying and developing MWBE suppliers to meet diversity targets. Responsible for managing social responsibility deliverables with supply base.



Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement, Logistics/Materials Management or Finance preferred

Preferred: MBA

Related Experience/Requirements:

Minimum: 10 years of Procurement experience in a progressive Procurement environment with direct materials sourcing

Preferred: Global supply base management experience


- Strong understanding and experience utiliizing Strategic Sourcing methodology, supplier management programs, contract negotiations and continuous improvement programs
- Solid computer skills; experience in SAP and eProcurement systems is a plus
- Effective communicator; excellent oral annd written communication skills; ability to work across multiple cultures
- Strong analytical skills
- Sound interpersonal skills enabling the iincumbent to work effectively within cross-functional teams
- Strong project management experience
- Ability to travel to Wrigley plants and ssupply base and internationally; all travel estimated up to 50%
